you will walk the earth always with your eyes turned
to the sky, for that is where you wish to return.

What is ballooning
Ballooning is an aeronautical activity practiced with a hot air balloon.
The hot air balloon is the oldest aerial transport vehicle in human engineering.
It has a history of three centuries that begins with Leonardo Da Vinci, who made the first sketch.
Portugal played a decisive role in the history of ballooning.
With an ambitious spirit, Bartolomeu de Gusmão, in 1709, before King D. João V, made a paper globe rise four meters high for the first time.
Security
Ballooning is recognized by the FAI (Federation Aeronautique Internationale) as the safest aerial activity, with accident rates close to zero.

The hot air balloon
The manned hot air balloon is the most common and widely used hot air balloon worldwide.
It has a capacity of between 2 to 32 crew members plus pilot.
The balloon is ascended by heating atmospheric air, which becomes less dense and lifts the balloon.
The fuel usually used is propane gas C3H8.
The payload of a hot air balloon depends exclusively on the size of its envelope (balloon).
A balloon considered "normal" has on average 2,000m3 to 3,000m3 of internal volume and can carry 2 to 5 people.
There are also balloons that have between 5,000m3 to 24,000m3 that can carry up to 35 passengers per flight.

Curiosities about ballooning
The hot air balloon is the oldest air vehicle in human history.
The brothers Joseph-Ralf and Jacques-Étienne Montgolfier discovered that smoke from a bonfire could inflate a silk sack.
So on July 5, 1783, they developed a hot air balloon.
The first controlled flight of a hot air balloon was carried out by Frenchmen Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes on November 21, 1783 in Paris in a balloon created by the Montgolfier brothers.
This first flight reached an altitude of 24 meters, i.e. the maximum length that the rope would allow it to ascend.
Today balloons are capable of reaching great altitudes.
On November 26, 2005, Vijaypat Singhania set an altitude record with a hot air balloon, reaching a height of 21,027 meters.
The first non-stop trip around the world in a hot air balloon took place in 1999.
The balloon took off from Château-d'Oex in Switzerland on March 1, 1999 and landed at 01:02 on March 21 in the Egyptian desert.
Its two crew members broke records for distance and duration, traveling for 19 days, 21 hours, and 55 minutes.
